Alexander J. Williamson
Associate
Alex was born and raised in Kent, Washington and
joined Lehner & Rodrigues as an associate in June, 2008. Prior to
joining the firm, Alex litigated a variety of insurance, commercial, class
action, personal injury and coverage cases, in both State and Federal
Court, many of them related to hurricane Katrina, for a small firm in New
Orleans. He also has unique experience with respect to climate change
litigation, as both a litigator and a lecturer.
Alex graduated cum laude from Whitman College in Walla Walla,
Washington in 2003 with a B.A. in politics and environmental studies. He
received his J.D. and a certificate in environmental law from Tulane Law
School in New Orleans where he graduated magna cum laude in 2006.
At Tulane Law School, Alex was an articles editor for the Tulane Law
Review, a Senior Fellow and a recipient of the Haber Joseph McCarthy
Environmental Law Award. Alex is a member of the Tulane chapter of the
Order of the Coif, a National Merit Scholar, and is published in the
Tulane Law Review.
While attending law school, Alex was a student attorney and summer
clerk with the Tulane Environmental Law Clinic where he developed an
understanding of federal environmental law, including the National
Environmental Policy Act, the Endangered Species Act, and various
pollution control statutes such as the Clean Air and Water Acts, RCRA, and
CERCLA.
Alex is a member of the Oregon State Bar and the Louisiana State Bar
Association (inactive). He is licensed to practice before all Oregon state
courts and all federal courts in Louisiana, including the United States
Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
